Nine block stretch of Watertown’s 10th Avenue North will be rebuilt (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.—One on one meetings with residents along a nine block stretch of 10th Avenue North in Watertown will begin this week.

That nine block stretch between Fourth Street Northwest and Highway 81 will be torn up, widened and repaved.

Public Works Director Heath Von Eye says the city is proposing making it a bit wider than the 41 foot minimum…..

Neighbors are concerned that large trees will have to be removed to make way for the wider street….

Von Eye says Tenth Avenue North is Watertown’s sixth-busiest street, seeing about 5,000 vehicles a day on average.
