WATERTOWN, S.D.–A tragic accident claimed the life of a man in Watertown this (Saturday) morning.

 

Watertown police, Codington County Sheriff’s deputies, the South Dakota Highway Patrol and Watertown Fire Rescue were called to the 200-block of 20th Avenue Southeast at 8:35 a.m.

 

Police Corporal Juan Flores says a 2000 Chevy Impala driven by 76 year-old Quentin Godes of Watertown lost control on the roadway and struck a tow truck operator who was assisting in removing another vehicle from the ditch.

 

Flores says the incident remains under investigation, and charges are pending.

 

The name of the tow truck driver killed is being withheld, pending notification of family.
