WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Regional Airport is on pace to draw close to 19,000 passengers this year.

That’s what Airport Manager Todd Syhre said at Monday’s Airport Board meeting.

November saw more than 2,300 passenger boardings, but the numbers could flatten out in early 2022.

That’s because one of the two airlines serving Watertown–United Airlines–will leave the market January 4th, leaving Denver Air Connection as Watertown’s only carrier.

Syhre says Denver Air and United have agreements in place that will continue even after United leaves….

Syhre went on to say….

Syhre told the board the new terminal that’s under construction is starting to take shape…

The new terminal is on pace to open in late June or early July.
