New trial date set for Watertown woman accused of attempted murder

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The trial date for a Watertown woman charged with Attempted Murder has been pushed back to October.
A status hearing was held today for 65 year-old Sherri Tormanen, who’s accused of shooting her husband.
Watertown police were called to the 10-block of Third Street Southwest on the evening of August 4th. They arrived to find Randy Tormanen with gunshot wounds to his face; injuries that were, “serious and life threatening.”
This morning, Judge Carmen Means set a status hearing on the case for October 20th at 9:00 a.m., with Tormanen’s trial now scheduled to begin the following day.
In addition to Attempted Murder, Tormanen is charged with Aggravated Assault and Possessing a Loaded Firearm While Intoxicated.
