WATERTOWN, S.D.—A top official with the federal government’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was in Watertown this morning.

 

The administrator for EPA’s Region 8—Greg Sopkin—got a tour of the Glacial Lakes Energy plant.

 

Glacial Lakes CEO Jim Seurer says it gave plant officials a chance to sell Sopkin on the idea of expanding the use of E-30 ethanol….

 


 

Sopkin was asked about EPA’s stance on E-30….

 

 

He came away impressed after getting a tour of the ethanol plant….

 

 

Sopkin is EPA’s top official in the states of South and North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado.
