WATERTOWN, S.D.—Phase two of the Highway 212 reconstruction through Watertown will not be finished next year as originally planned.

South Dakota DOT engineer Bryce Olson says phase two will be done over two construction seasons—with underground storm sewer work starting next year, and repaving of the highway happening in 2022….

Olson says trying to squeeze everything into one construction season just wasn’t realistic…

The work will include relocating one stoplight on Highway 212. It’s the one in front of the Watertown Mall,

That traffic signal will be relocated one block to the east…

Phase two runs between Highway 81 and 19th Street East.
