SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–Many questions remain following a fiery crash on Interstate 90 Monday afternoon that killed three people.
It happened just after 4:00 p.m., 13 miles west of Sioux Falls.
The Highway Patrol says preliminary crash information indicates a pickup truck was traveling westbound near mile marker 382. The pickup sideswiped multiple vehicles before crossing into the eastbound lane and crashing head on into an RV. Both vehicles were engulfed in fire destroying identifying features and documents.
The driver of the pickup and the driver and passenger in the RV were all killed.
Both lanes of traffic on I-90 in the vicinity of the crash scene were temporarily closed down and rerouted to alternate routes.
In incidents such as this, it’s common that dental records be used to identify the victims remains.
