VERMILLION, S.D.–The Vermillion School District on Monday night became the first school district in South Dakota to implement a transgender restroom policy.

The School Board, on a 3-2 vote, approved the policy that will allow transgender students to use the bathroom that corresponds with the gender in which they identify with.
