WATERTOWN, S.D.—These are busy times at Watertown Regional Airport.

United Express jet service to Denver and Chicago has led to record-high passenger numbers that are expected to go even higher according to Airport Manager Todd Syhre.

He told the city council Monday night that growth is due, in part, to an increasing number of charter flights at the airport.

He says college teams out of Brookings have started taking charter flights out of Watertown…..

A new terminal at the Watertown Airport is currently in the design phase, and a new 20,600 gallon jet fuel tank will be added to accommodate a growing number of planes going in and out.
