WATERTOWN, S.D.—Five people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a single vehicle crash in Watertown.

Police Sergeant Matt Hegg says it happened at 5:37 p.m. in the 200-block of 14th Avenue Northwest.

Eyewitnesses told police a Ford Escape was driving at a high rate of speed when it crossed the centerline, left the road, and struck a large tree.

The driver is identified as 31 year-old Cameron Hogle of Watertown. He sustained serious injuries in the crash.

There were four juvenile passengers in the vehicle. They were also injured.

Charges against Hogle are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.
