WATERTOWN, S.D.–With just two more days left in the South Dakota legislative session, the long public service career of Watertown’s Nancy York is coming to a close.

The District 5 State Representative has already announced she is not running for re-election in November, which has caused her to pause and reflect about stepping away…….

York explains why now is the right time to step away from politics…

York served on the Watertown City Council prior to becoming a state legislator.

Hugh Bartels, York’s colleague in District 5, is running for re-election in November.

If he wins, he says it too will be his last term in the Legislature.
