PIERRE, S.D.–The South Dakota Health Department reported 33 new cases of the COVID-19 virus Monday, but the number of people who’ve recovered from the virus grew by almost twice that amount, to 59.

Positive infections in the state since the virus first began showing up in early March are 2,245. The number of people recovered has grown to 1,316.

Sixty-one South Dakotans are currently hospitalized with the virus.

Ninety percent of all cases in South Dakota have occurred in two counties–Minnehaha and Lincoln.

Codington County has just one active case, and has seen only one new case in the last two weeks.
