Minnesota man killed in crash in Minnehaha County

GARRETSON, S.D.–An 81 year-old Jasper, Minnesota man died in a collision Thursday evening three miles north of Garretson, South Dakota.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a Buick Encore was traveling northbound on South Dakota Highway 11. At the same time, the driver of a Kia Sorento was traveling eastbound on 250th Street and failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 11 and collided with the oncoming Buick.
Dense fog is a contributing factor in the crash.
The drivers of both vehicles sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Buick sustained fatal injuries and passed away at the scene.
