Minimal damage to Watertown home following kitchen fire

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Minimal damage following a kitchen fire in a Watertown home last night.

Fire Rescue was called to the home in the 500-block of 7th Street Northeast at 7:30.

Fire crews arrived to find a light smoke in the home. The fire had already been extinguished by the homeowner by the time they got there.

They spent about 30 minutes on the scene ventilating smoke from the home and checking for fire extension.

The fire started in an oven, and was contained to that area.
