MILBANK, S.D.–The Milbank Police Department says phony $100 bills are being passed in western Minnesota.
A recent police department Facebook post indicated one dollar bills are being whitewashed and re-printed as $100 bills.
A pen test will show that it’s valid currency, but upon closer inspection, will show its fake.
The suspect passing the counterfeit money was described as a white male about six feet tall with a thick goatee.
Some of the bills were passed at Bars and Grills. The suspect orders a small amount of food and drink, pays with the fake $100 bill, and then leaves quickly.
