Milbank man sentenced to federal prison time for dealing meth

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–A Milbank man has been sentenced to 12 1/2 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for dealing methamphetamine in northeast South Dakota.
Forty one year-old Travis Thiele was sentenced in Federal Court recently.
Thiele was indicted for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance by a federal grand jury in April of 2022. He pleaded guilty on June 20th of this year.
Federal prosecutors say Thiele regularly obtained methamphetamine from a co-conspirator and distributed it to others in Northeastern South Dakota.
He is believed to have been involved in the distribution of approximately 17 pounds of meth during his involvement in the conspiracy.
