McBride and Team South Dakota compete at 14U National Hockey Tournament

Dallas, TX (News Release) – South Dakota 14-and-under hockey player’s momentum continued into Friday as they would down Junior Arizona Coyotes at 2021 14U National Hockey Tournament 7-2. Watertown’s Austin McBride would notch three assists in the contest.

South Dakota continued their winning streak Saturday in the final qualifying game of the 2021 national hockey tournament, defeating the Ashburn Virginia Xtreme, 6-1. Six different players scored goals in the game. Watertown forward Austin McBride would slide in one goal.

South Dakota ended their championship run Sunday against the Alaska Stars in the quarterfinal round of the national hockey tournament. Team South Dakota lost 2-6.

Despite the loss, Coach Brian Prisbe noted that the future of Team South Dakota at the 14U level looks bright.
