Man seriously injured in crash on I-29 south of Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The South Dakota Highway Patrol says one person was injured Saturday night in a two vehicle accident on Interstate 29, three miles south of Watertown.
A pickup was southbound when it turned onto the middle of the Interstate (not at a crossover), to go the other way.
The pickup collided with a northbound GMC Yukon.
The driver of the pickup, 52 year-old Thad Ellefson of Sioux Falls, was not injured, but charges against him are pending.
The 38 year-old man driving the Yukon sustained serious, non life-threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to Prairie Lakes Hospital. His name was not released.
Both men were wearing seatbelts.
