Man rescued after becoming trapped in southwest Minnesota grain bin

BALATON, Minn.–Several emergency crews responded this week after receiving reports of a man trapped in a grain bin in Balaton, Minnesota.

Murray County Dispatch received the report that a man was completely submerged in a grain bin and individuals at the scene were unable to locate him.

The agencies that responded include Murray County Sheriff’s Office, Balaton Fire Department, Balaton Ambulance, Tracy Fire Department, Garvin Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance, North Memorial Air Care and the Marshall Fire Department.

The emergency personnel were able to extricate the man from the grain bin and remained on the scene for an hour.

The Murray County Sheriff’s Office did not give an update on the man’s condition or release his name.
