Man dies in grain bin accident in northeastern North Dakota

ADAMS, N.D.–A grain bin accident in Walsh County in northeastern North Dakota has killed a man.

The victim was attempting to dislodge grain inside a canola bin when he became trapped inside.

Sheriff Ron Jurgens says fire departments from Adams, Lankin, Fordville and Park River responded just before 3 p.m. Monday. Jurgens says the 30,000 bushel bin, about 6 miles south of Adams, was nearly full.

The victim, in his 50s, was taken to the hospital in Park River where he died.

His name has not been released.
