WHITE RIVER, S.D.—A man died early this morning in a fiery rollover crash in South Dakota’s Mellette County.

The Highway Patrol says the 58 year-old man was eastbound on Highway 44, 22 miles west of White River, when the car left the highway, rolled several times and caught fire.

The man was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was dead at the scene.

His name will be released pending notification of family members.
