Joseph Hoek (pictured) of Sioux Falls is charged with First Degree Murder in the February 2nd death of Moody County Chief Deputy Sheriff Ken Prorok.
Hoek is alleged to have intentionally swerved the vehicle he was driving toward Prorok and ran over him while Prorok was laying out spike strips across a highway in an attempt to stop Hoek from fleeing.
Jackley gave KWAT News this update on the possibility of pursuing the death penalty….
Hoek’s court appearance is tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. in Moody County District Court in Flandreau before Judge Gregory Stoltenburg.
