WATERTOWN, S.D.–The most impactful winter storm this season will arrive in northeast South Dakota tomorrow.

It’s actually two systems that will go back-to-back, dumping very heavy snow, with strong winds that will create blizzard conditions.

Amy Parkin is with the National Weather Service in Aberdeen…

Then we could see a lull in the snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning before the worst of it arrives by Wednesday afternoon….

Parkin says with the winds that will gain strength on Wednesday, it’s highly likely schools and businesses will close, along with highways and air travel….in other words…major impacts….

At this point, the area is under a Winter Storm Watch, but look for that to be upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning or even Blizzard Warning as the storm gets closer.
