WATERTOWN, S.D.–Last week, Watertown City Manager Amanda Mack told KWAT News she was resigning from her job, effective January 6th, to become the new city administrator of Harrisburg.

But that timeline changed this week. The Watertown City Council met in executive session for some three hours, and voted to end Mack’s employment, effective immediately.

Mack has a five-year contract to work in Harrisburg, with an expected start date of January 27th.

Watertown City Finance Officer Kristen Bobzien will serve as interim city manager until a permanent replacement is identified and hired.
