WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Mayor Ried Holien has said when a new two sheet ice arena opens in the city next year, he wants it to be a multi-use facility that can host more than just hockey games or figure skating competitions.

Previously mentioned possibilities were trade shows or even concerts.

This week, the city approved a consulting contract with a Twin Cities firm that will help them draw up management plans for the arena once it opens.
