Mack: Ukrainian refugees could help address South Dakota’s workforce shortage, but they need sponsors  (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Thousands of Ukrainians have fled their war-torn country for the United States, and in some cases, their landing spot is South Dakota.

It’s those refugees that could be a piece to the puzzle when it comes to addressing the state’s workforce shortage.

Watertown City Manager Amanda Mack (pictured) was at a meeting at Lake Area Technical College Monday to learn more about it….

The war in Ukraine is nearing the 10 month mark after Russia invaded their neighboring country in February.
