Light snow amounts expected in eastern South Dakota Thursday  (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.—After an extended period of dry weather, eastern South Dakota will see a wintry mix move in beginning tonight.

National Weather Service forecaster Ryan Vipond says colder air moves in Thursday morning, when the rain-sleet mix will transition to all snow.

A couple of inches are likely in northeast South Dakota….

Watertown’s current snow depth is measured at just two inches.

Spring officially arrives on Friday.
