HURON, S.D. (Performance Radio) — The Huron Tigers have named Josh Lien as the new head volleyball coach.

Lien replaces Shelly Buddenhagen, who stepped down last month after 12 years as head coach.  Lien brings extensive experience to the Huron bench, with one year as head coach at Irene, and 15 years at Rapid City Stevens, including seven as head coach of the Raiders. Lien says he jumped at the chance to apply:

Lien is a full time member of the South Dakota National Guard, which has always been supportive during Lien’s coaching career:

Lien has been Huron’s sophomore coach the past two years and says the transition to head coach will be seamless:

Huron currently has the longest streak of consecutive State AA tournament appearances at 12 years in a row. Huron finished state AA runner-up last November.
