Legion baseball in South Dakota continues to be on hold

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Today (April 27, 2020) was to be Watertown Post 17’s opening day with two games at Fargo Davies but the coronavirus pandemic has continued to place the South Dakota legion baseball season on hold. The South Dakota Commissioner will be reevaluating the situation mid-May to see if a legion season can move forward in the state.
In North Dakota, the legion executive committee has canceled the 2020 season but teams are still moving forward for a plan to conduct baseball in the state if the COVID-19 pandemic allows. Minnesota Legion Baseball continues to enact a wait and see approach to the season. The 2020 American Legion World Series and all 8 regional tournaments were canceled on April 7th.
