Legal Advice without the Price question for Thursday, September 3, 2020
Dear Ron,
Recently I went to a store to get a few things to fix around my house. I walked in, the gal inside the front door said, “you need a mask in order to shop here.”
I said, “this is discrimination”. She proceeds to tell me that either I have to buy a mask to wear a mask or I need to leave.
I left. I know I don’t deserve to be treated like this (discriminated against) I have a breathing disorder. Doctors have told me not to wear a mask for medical reasons.
I think the fact that they tell you to “leave” without asking if you have a reason for not wearing a mask is discrimination. What does the law say about this matter?
