Latest tip on whereabouts of missing South Dakota girl goes nowhere
February 26, 2020
RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says they are aware of a sighting that bears a resemblance to Serenity Dennard – the South Dakota girl who has been missing since February of 2019.
In a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office says they were made aware of a post out of the Las Vegas area regarding a young girl who looks similar to Serenity. But it turns out it was NOT her.
In an update Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said, “Regarding the Las Vegas area Facebook post from earlier today and after consulting with Las Vegas Metro PD, we have confirmed the girl pictured in that post was not Serenity. All questions about the original post should be directed to the Las Vegas Metro PD. Thank you again for your continuing support in our efforts to find Serenity.
It’s one of many the department has received over the past year in their investigation of the little girl’s disappearance.
Serenity darted away from the Black Hills Children’s Home in early February 2019 and hasn’t been seen since. The consensus is that she froze to death somewhere in the area. Searches so far have not found her, although cadaver dogs have hit on possible human remains.
