Lakers with two wins over Yankton, girls wrap season with loss at Aberdeen

WATERTOWN, S.D. ( — The Watertown Laker girls would split their home, away weekend of games.

Watertown would hold off Yankton on Saturday 4-3.  Jaclyn Lloyd would score two goals and add one assist.  Sister Janel would add two more goals.  Jullian Busch notched an assist.  Angelyn Birnell stopped 23 of 26 shots on goal.

The Laker girls would fall at Aberdeen to wrap up the regular season on Sunday 6-2. Jaclyn Lloyd would score both of Watertown’s goals.  Birnell stopped 39 of 45 shots on goal.

The Laker girls wrap their regular season at 11-11

The Laker guys would defeat Yankton 8-1 on Saturday in their only action of the weekend. A slew of Lakers would tally goals led by Blair Boomsma with two, Mason Witt, Jake Bramer, Thomas Foley, Jacob Rieffenberger, Brayson Bohling, and Mason Thompson would each add one.  Owen McBride would stop 14 of 15 shots on goal.

Watertown now 10-11 host Aberdeen on Friday and travel to Mitchell on Saturday.
