Lakers tie with Mitchell

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Watertown Lakers would finish out 2019 with a 3-3 tie vs Mitchell New Years Eve at Maas Arena.
Watertown would trail after the first period 2-0 but a Conner Bramer goal at 8:52 into the 2nd period would put the Lakers on the board. Watertown would tie the game at 2, two minutes into the 3rd period with an Austin Green goal. Mitchell would take the lead at three with a Nickolas Robinson goal at 3:17 into the 3rd period. Kyler Kranz would tie the game again at three for the Lakers with a goal at 9:20.
Jacob Van Dusseldorp, Jared Slobotski and Mason Evans would all notch assists in the contest.
Between the posts for Watertown, Owen McBride would stop 33 of 36 shots on goal. The Lakers would outshoot Mitchell in the game 38-36.
The Lakers (2-3-1) are home Friday and Saturday as the face Sioux Falls One and Oahe. Puck drop 8 p.m. Friday and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Jeff Anderson will have coverage on 1480 KSDR with video at GoWatertown.net.
