Lakers snap nine game skid, gals fall at Mitchell

YANKTON, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Laker guys snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 6-3 win at Yankton Sunday.

Austin Green tallied one goal and two assists, Blair Boomsma added one goal and one assist, Parker Sheehan, Ethan Beebe, Jacksyn Wirkus, and Brayson Bohling each added one goal. Owen McBride stopped 43 of 46 shots on goal. Yankton would outshoot Watertown 46 to 35 in the contest.

The Laker gals would fall at Mitchell, 4-2.

Jayda Kranz and Taylor Espland would each score for Watertown. Janel Lloyd and Jillian Busch each would notch an assist. Emma Foisel would stop 34 or 28 shots on goal. Mitchell would outshoot Watertown 38-20.

The Laker ladies fall to 5-8-1 and face Brookings at the Maas on February 20th. Laker guys improve to 4-12 and face Yankton also at home on February 20th.
