Lakers hoping progress made during regular season turns into state tournament success

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The 2021 Boys State Varsity Hockey Tournament opens today at the Scheels Iceplex in Sioux Falls.

The Watertown Lakers come into the tournament with a record of 5-15. Coach Evan Witt says the boys made a lot of good progress this season:

The eight-seed Lakers open the tournament against the one-seed Brookings at 4:45 p.m. The Lakers have fallen to the Rangers twice this season by finals of 9-1 and 9-0. Coach Witt says it’s going to take a lot of heart to upset their rivals:
