SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Laker boys hockey would suffer two losses at the State Tournament in Sioux Falls this past weekend.
The Lakers would fall to Rushmore in the opening round game on Friday 9-1. Blair Boomsma would have the lone goal for Watertown. Thomas Foley notched the assist. Rushmore would outshoot Watertown 47-14 in the contest.
The Lakers season would end at the hands of Aberdeen on Saturday 5-3. Mason Witt, Austin Green, and Ryan Roby each scored for Watertown. Witt and Austin McBride added the assist. Watertown was outshot again 42-17.
The Lakers finish the year 12-15 and graduate eight seniors; Dakota Woertink, Owen McBride, Mason Thompson, Austin Green, Mason Witt, Blair Boomsma, Kaden German, Nicholas Lenssen, and Jacksyn Wirkus.
