Laker guys split, girls end regular season with loss

WATERTOWN, S.D. ( — The Laker guys would defeat Yankton for the second time in a week 5-2 on Saturday.

Parker Sheehan, Blair Boomsma, Ethan Beebe, Kyler Kranz and Max Evans would each notch one goal. Austin Green would tally two assists and Boomsma, Beebe would contribute one assist each. Owen McBride stopped 26 of 28 shots on goal. Watertown would outshoot the Bucks in the contest 44-28.

Sioux Falls one would defeat Watertown on Sunday 7-3.  Ethan Beebe, Max Evans and Austin Green would notch one goal each.  Blair Boomsma, Jacksyn Wirkus, and Thomas Foley would each tally an assist.  Graysen Kasuke would stop 26 of 33 shots on goal.  Sioux Falls would outshoot Watertown 33-20.

On the girl’s side, the Lakers would end Saturday night in a 2-2 tie with Brookings.

Jaclyn and Janel Lloyd would each tally one goal each. Jayda Kranz would notch two assists while Jaclyn Lloyd would add one. Emma Foisell would stop 20 of 22 shots on goal. The Lakers would outshoot the Rangers in the contest 36-22.

Huron would down Watertown on Sunday 4-3.  Jaclyn Lloyd would notch two goals and Taylor Espland added one goal on a power play.  Jayda Kranz and Sophie Krueger added assists. Emma Foisel stopped 26 of 30 shots on goal.  Huron outshot Watertown in the contest 30-25.

The Laker girls end their year at 4-10-2 and await to host the  State Varsity Hockey Tournament March 5th through the 7th at the Maas.  The Laker guys (5-13) wrap up their regular season at Mitchell and Brookings next Friday and Saturday.
