Laker guys split, Laker girls struggle in weekend series
WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Laker boys hockey would split their weekend series falling to Huron Saturday night 3-2 but coming away with a 4-3 overtime win at Yankton on Sunday.
Jacob Van Dusseldorp and Jared Slobotski would each score one goal in the loss on Saturday. Owen McBride would stop 27 of 30 shots on goal. Huron would lead in shots 28-30. On Sunday, Jacob Van Dusseldorp would put two in the net and Devin Matson would tally one goal. Owen McBride would stop 23 of 20 shots on goal. Watertown would outshoot Yankton in the game 47-23.
The Laker boys (2-2) will travel to Sioux Falls December 28th for an 8:30 p.m. puck drop.
The Laker girls would struggle at Sioux Falls on Saturday falling 10-0. Emma Foisel would stop 43 of 53 shots on goal. Watertown would be outshot in the game 53-10. Laker girls would continue to struggle at home Sunday as they would be topped by Aberdeen 11-0. Emma Foisel would stop 50 of 61 shots on goal. The Lakers would be outshot in the game 61-9.
The Lakers girls (2-5) are off till December 30th when they face Mitchell at Mass Arena for an 8 p.m. puck drop.
