WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Watertown Laker boys split their opening weekend games.  Falling to at home to Brookings on Friday 6-2 but winning at Sioux Center 3-2.

Jacob Van Dusseldorp and Jared Slobotski each scores goals for the Lakers on Friday.  Owen McBride stopped 28 of 34 shots on goal.  The Rangers out shot the Lakers 34-18.

On Saturday Jacob Van Dusseldorp, Brayson Bohling and Blair Boomsma scores goals for the Lakers.  Owen McBridge stopped 23 of 25 shots on goal.  Watertown out shot the Storm in the game 29-25.

The Lakers (1-1) come home on Saturday, December 21st to face Huron at 8:30 p.m. and travel to Yankton on Saturday, December 22nd for a 4 p.m. puck drop.

The Laker girls fell to Brookings on Saturday and Huron on Sunday by both 3-1 scores.

Merci Hanson was the lone Laker to score on Saturday and Jaclyn Lloyd scored the solo goal on Sunday.

Sydnie Young stopped 42 of 45 shots on goal on Saturday and 34-36 on Sunday.

The Laker gals (0-3) come home to face Rushmore twice next weekend.  8:30 p.m. puck drop Saturday and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
