Laker boys split weekend series; girls fall at Mitchell and tie with Huron

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Watertown Lakers blanked Aberdeen Friday night, 4-0.
Mason Evans would lead the scoring attack with three goals. Jared Slobotski would contribute one. Austin Green could contribute two assists while Mason Lloyd, Conner Bramber, Jacob Van Dusseldorp, Max Evans would each contribute one.
Owen McBride would lockdown the net stopping 17 of 17 shots on goal.
Watertown would out shoot Aberdeen in the contest 35-17.
On Saturday the Lakers would fall at Huron 5-4.
Mason Evans would again lead the scoring attack with two goals. Mason Lloyd and Blair Boomsma would each contribute one goal in the contest. Owen McBride would stop 32 of 37 shots on goal.
Watertown would outshoot Huron in the game 44-37.
Watertown travels to Aberdeen to face the Cougars on February 15th.
On the girls side of the weekend, the Lakers would fall at Mitchell Friday night 9-2.
Merci Hanson and Maddilyn Steen would each score one goal for Watertown. Sydnie Young would stop 37 of 46 shots on goal.
Watertown would be outscored in the contest 46-16.
On Saturday the Laker girls would end the day with a 1-1 tie at Huron.
Jayda Kranz was the lone Laker with a goal. Cate Holien and Jaclyn Lloyd would each notch an assist. Sydnie Young would stop 13 of 14 shots on goal.
Watertown would outshoot Huron in the contest 42-14.
The Laker girls come home February 13th to face Mitchell and travel to Aberdeen February 14th.
