Aberdeen Area
Fishing Report

The boat docks and fishing piers are in at Richmond Lake, Mina Lake, and Elm Lake.

Richmond: Anglers have been catching walleye in the evenings. Anglers are catching lots of walleye in the 11-15 inch range.
Elm: Anglers have been catching walleye and northern pike.
Elm River: Anglers have been catching the occasional walleye and northern pike. Anglers have been fishing below the Elm Lake spillway, Kruses Dam, and in the Columbia area.
James River: Fishing is starting to pick up. Anglers have been catching walleye and northern pike. With the high water flow it has been difficult to fish some areas. Fishing has been better in the Hecla and Sand Lake area.
Mina: Anglers have been catching the occasional walleye.

Hunting Report
Turkey: The archery turkey season in open until May 31st. In Brown County we only have an archery turkey season.

Clark County
Fishing Report

Fishing has really been day to day throughout the county with no place better than the other, just get out and fish. Most wader/shore anglers have been doing good.

Indian Springs: It has been day to day with the walleye bite. Seems to be slow and there’s a very short window if you find a bite.
Dry 2: Anglers cannot reach the boat launch due to water over the road. Please don’t try; one angler recently did and ruined a pickup – the road is bad.

Hunting Report

There hasn’t been much for hunting activity again this past week.

Snow Geese: No snow geese in the area.

Codington County
Fishing Report

Goose: Fishermen are catching a few walleyes from shore and by boat.
Blythe: Little fishing activity.
Kampeska: Fishermen are catching a mixed bag of fish from shore and boat, including (northern pike, white bass, perch, crappie and walleye.
Pelican: Fishermen are catching a few walleyes from shore and by boat, evenings seem to be the best time.

Hunting Report

Snow Geese: No snow geese in the area.
Turkey: Turkey continue to spread out, archery and firearms hunters are both having some success in filling their tags.

Day County
Fishing Report

There have been a few changes in Day County for shore fishing. Due to the highwater and safety hazard of a vehicle and pedestrian accident, the county is no longer allowing pedestrians on the Grenville grade, Day Co 1 north of Hwy 12 to 140th St., and Yellowstone trail from Main St. to Day Co 1. Also, if you are shore fishing make sure you are parked in a legal parking spot and it is not posted as no parking.

North Rush: Both shore fishing and fishing from a boat have been successful for anglers mostly in the mornings and evenings.
Antelope: Anglers that have been giving it a try have been having great success for walleyes.
Waubay: Walleye bite still seems slow, but the white bass bite has picked up over the weekend.
Bitter: Not seeing much action on the lake, there has been some shore fishing on the northeast side of the lake.

Turkey: Still seeing plenty of turkeys in the area allowing for some good opportunity to still fill your tag

Hamlin County
Fishing Report

Poinsett: Lots of fishermen out and about this past weekend. Reports of walleyes being caught in the evening hours. There is a 300ft NO-WAKE zone restriction around the entire lake.
Albert: Continuing to see a few fishermen at the access. Sounds like the bite is slow but still catching a nice fish once in a while.

Snow Geese: No snow geese in the area.
Turkey: Few hunters out this past weekend and success remains limited to the Sioux Poinsett GPA.

Marshall County
Fishing Report

Opitz: A few walleyes are being caught from shore near the ramp and south road grade.
Roy: A few walleyes are being caught near the east and west park ramp areas.
Clear: A few walleyes and northerns are being caught along the road grade.
White: A few walleyes are being caught from shore near the ramp and spillway.

Hunting Report
Turkey: Birds a being vocal and toms are really moving around searching for hens. Birds are being receptive to calling.
Snow Geese: No snow geese in the area.

Forest Drive is open. Please use North Shore Drive to get to Forest Drive with Youth Camp Road being closed due to poor road conditions.
