WATERTOWN, S.D.–The McPeek family name has been a part of Watertown police work for decades, but tomorrow (Friday) a father-son career that dates back generations will come to an end.

Lee McPeek will retire as police chief, just as his father LaVerne did after a 14 year career as chief that ended in 1994.

Lee McPeek joined KWAT’s “What’s Up” today to talk about his law enforcement career, and what’s next….

Effective at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) McPeek is retired, and Assistant Chief Tim Toomey will be police chief, and Ryan Remmers will be assistant chief.

Congratulations on your career Lee, and happy retirement. Thank you for your service!
