WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The high school football season begins tonight across South Dakota.  Watertown Radio Sports will have coverage of two games.

The New Country KS93 game of the week will feature Hamlin traveling to Waubay to face Dakota Hills.  The two squads got very familiar with each other in 2019 as they faced each other twice.  Once in the regular season and once in the playoffs.  Both games the Chargers won by capitalizing on the Grizzlies mistakes.

Dakota Hills Coach Zach Noffsinger says his 2020 team, lead by five seniors, might be flying under some people’s radar:

The 2019 Hamlin squad overcame early adversity but eventually fell in the second round of the playoffs to Lemmon-McIntosh.  The 2020 troop will see ten seniors take the field.  Hamlin Charger Coach Jeff Sheehan says his boys are ready for Friday night:

Kickoff set for 7 p.m. on New Country KS93 and GoWatertown.net/NewCountryKS93.  It’s parents night in Waubay and the Waubay Booster Club will hold a tailgate meal from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Choose from a hamburger or brat meal for $7 or a hotdog meal for $5. The meal includes chips, beans, cookie and bottled water.

Watertown Radio Sports will also have bonus high school football coverage as Castlewood will travel to Howard for a 7 p.m. kick.  Carl Hauser will have play-by-play coverage on 104.3 KKSD and GoWatertown.net/1043KKSD.
