WATERTOWN, S.D.–Tonight’s a big night for the future of a new two-sheet ice arena in Watertown.

The city council meets and will take two important votes on that project.

The first is to approve $20 million in sales tax revenue bonds that would pay for the arena.

The second vote is to purchase land from J & J Land Sales for the project.

The arena would be built north of Hobby Lobby along Willow Creek Drive.

The council will also hold the second reading of an ordinance laying out the local rules and regulations regarding medical cannabis in Watertown.

The ordinance calls for a $25,000 application fee for a business that wants to sell it. There would be a limit of three dispensaries in Watertown that would sell medical marijuana.
