WATERTOWN, S.D.–Great news for country music listeners.
The 1,800 foot tall tower near Garden City that KDLO-FM (96.9) operated on has been replaced with a new one.
A December 2022 ice storm actually took down two towers at that site.
Since that time, KDLO-FM has been operating at reduced power on a smaller tower that meant a smaller coverage area.
But today, Watertown Radio General Manager Brenda Rorvick announced the fallen tower has been fully replaced with a new one, and KDLO-FM is again operating at its full power of 100,000 watts.
Rorvick said, “we’re happy to tell our listeners who’ve been patiently waiting for their favorite songs, artists, and shows like Farmer’s Market that they are once again available to an even broader audience now that we’re back to full power.”
The ice storm caused a second, shorter 800-foot tower to collapse as well. That tower was not replaced.
