WATERTOWN, S.D.–If you’ve shopped for an airline ticket lately, you’ll notice prices for air fares, along with just about everything else we buy on a daily basis, have gone up.

Jon Coleman is the Business Development Director for Denver Air Connection, which serves Watertown. He’s also a pilot for Denver Air.

Coleman says jet fuel prices are having a big impact on the cost of flying….

As a result, Denver Air, and other airlines, have had to adjust their prices. Gone are those one-way fares that, at one time, were priced as low as $49……

Coleman tells KWAT News jet fuel prices aren’t the only factor that have led to a price increase…

Passenger boardings in Watertown dropped below 1,000 in September. Coleman says that wasn’t surprising…

Coleman says passenger numbers should rebound over the holidays…

Denver Air flies non stop from Watertown to Denver and Chicago on 50-seat regional jets.

Just under 12,000 passengers had flown out of Watertown on Denver Air the first nine months of this year.
