BROOKINGS, S.D. (GoJacks.com) — South Dakota State women’s basketball released its 2021-22 nonconference schedule Wednesday, highlighted by five regular season home games and a trio of contests against Power Five opponents.

South Dakota State will host St. Cloud State (Oct. 27) and Concordia St. Paul (Nov. 4) in a pair of exhibitions. The Jackrabbits will open the regular season as it welcomes Green Bay to Frost Arena on Nov. 9.

State will hit the road for a two-game road trip against a pair of Power Five opponents. The Jacks will face Mississippi State (Nov. 12) in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The two-game swing will end Nov. 15 at NCAA Tournament qualifier Iowa State. Last season, the Jackrabbits defeated the then-No. 15/18 Cyclones in the season opener.

SDSU will return home to take on Montana State on Nov. 18 before beginning a five-game road swing Nov. 21 at Creighton.

As announced earlier, the Jackrabbits will play three games at the Gulf Coast Showcase over the Thanksgiving holiday from Nov. 26-28. The tournament will tip Friday, Nov. 26 as SDSU takes on UMass in the first matchup at 10 a.m. CT. On Saturday, Nov. 27, South Dakota State will face either UCLA or Kent State. The two winners from Friday’s games will play at 4 p.m. CT Saturday, while the two losers will play at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday. Sunday will feature the championship (6:30 p.m. CT), third-place (4 p.m. CT), fifth-place and seventh-place (10 a.m. CT) games.

State will wrap up its road swing Dec. 4 at Northern Iowa. Closing out the nonconference slate with a three-game homestand, the Jacks will take on NCAA qualifier Missouri State on Dec. 6. Last season when the teams met, State topped the then-No. 20 Lady Bears on the road.

The nonconference schedule for the Jackrabbits will conclude with contests against Kansas State (Dec. 11) and Dakota Wesleyan (Dec. 15) inside Frost Arena.

Game times will be announced at a later date. Season tickets that cover all Jackrabbit men’s and women’s basketball home games start at $150 and are currently available through the Jackrabbit Ticket Office and online at JackrabbitTickets.com. Single-game tickets for SDSU’s home games are slated to go on sale Oct. 1.
