BROOKINGS, S.D. (GoJacks.com) — The South Dakota State University football team will play its first road game in more than a month, traveling Saturday to face Youngstown State in a battle of ranked teams from the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
SDSU, which continues to be ranked third in both the STATS FCS media poll and by the Football Championship Subdivision coaches, enters the game with a 4-1 overall record, including a 1-0 mark in league play after opening the conference slate with a 28-10 Hobo Day victory over Southern Illinois on Oct. 5. The Penguins also are 4-1 overall, but suffered their first loss of the season in their MVFC opener last weekend, falling 21-14 at Northern Iowa. YSU is ranked 17th (FCS coaches) and 19th (STATS) is this week’s polls.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. Eastern Time (5 p.m. Central) at Stambaugh Stadium in Youngstown, Ohio. The game will be televised on ESPN+, as well as being carried on My UTV, over the air channel 3.2.
