BROOKINGS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — South Dakota State men’s basketball announced its 2020-21 nonconference slate Wednesday, highlighted by a pair of three-game events in Sioux Falls.

The Jackrabbits are on a streak of eight straight postseason appearances and have won at least a share of the Summit League’s regular season title the last three years.

Eric Henderson, the reigning Summit League’s Coach of the Year, is back for his second season with an experienced squad anchored by three preseason all-league honorees. The program returns 89 percent of its scoring from a team that went 22-10 last year.

The Jackrabbits will open the campaign in Sioux Falls at the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic Nov. 25-27. All three of SDSU’s games at the Sanford Pentagon will be televised on the ESPN family of networks, beginning with its first round contest vs. Creighton on Nov. 25 (6:30 p.m., ESPN2).

The following week the Jacks will play their first true road game in Ames, Iowa, against Big 12 Conference foe Iowa State (Dec. 2).

SDSU is back the road Dec. 8 for a meeting with Bradley in Peoria, Ill. The Braves have won back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference tournaments.

Nonleague play concludes in the same place it started, as the Jacks take part in the Dakota Showcase in Sioux Falls. SDSU will play its Dakota rivals North Dakota State (Dec. 10, 8 p.m.), North Dakota (Dec. 11, 5:30 p.m.) and South Dakota (Dec. 12, 8 p.m.) in the Sanford Pentagon. All three games will air live on Midco Sports Network.

South Dakota State will begin Summit League play when it hosts Western Illinois Jan. 8-9.

All game dates and times are subject to change.

The SDSU Athletics Department is currently working with campus officials on capacity and social distancing plans. Single-game and conference doubleheader basketball tickets will only be available to purchase once attendance limits are established. Purchasing information will be e-mailed to season ticket holders once schedules become finalized.
