WEST DES MOINES, Ia.–Effective today, the Hy-Vee grocery store chain will limit meat purchases at all of its locations.

It’s due to recent closures of some meat processing plants.

Hy-Vee says it will have meat available at their stores, but customers may not find specific items they’re looking for.

As a result, each customer will be limited to four packages of a combination of fresh beef, ground beef, pork and chicken.

Hy-Vee, Inc. is an employee-owned corporation operating more than 265 retail stores across eight Midwestern states with sales of $10 billion annually. It employs more than 85,000 people.
